2024 Patient, Family, and Donor Research Forum Program Highlight!

To increase the quality and number of organs available for transplant from deceased organ donors, physicians use ‘donor interventions. Donor interventions involve things like administering drugs to donors to improve the condition of their organs for the benefit of organ recipients. However, there are knowledge gaps related to donor interventions and whether they are effective and/or safe. Understanding safety and effectiveness requires larger randomized trials.

Join us and learn how CDTRP researcher, Dr. Charles Weijar, and CDTRP PFD Research Partner, Laurie Blackstock are advancing deceased donation clinical trials guides by places donation families at the center of their work to develop outcome measures that improve the donation process for families.
