The Canadian Donation and Transplantation Research Program (CDTRP) in cooperation with the Canadian Society of Transplantation (CST), will host the 5th edition of the Patient, Family and Donor Research Forum dedicated to donation and transplantation research partners across Canada on June 13 & 14, 2024.

The Forum focuses on capacity building in patient engagement for researchers, patient, family and donor partners, and trainees through a mix of presentations, workshops, and priority-setting discussions. Our 2024 Forum will focus on strengthening patient engagement in clinical trials and equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). The Forum also dedicates time to identifying patient priorities through workshops and priority-setting discussions.

Learning outcomes include:
  • Advance multi-disciplinary collaborations in donation and transplantation research, with a focus on innovative clinical trials.
  • Support investigators, trainees, and PFD partners in understanding and embedding equity, diversity and inclusion principles in their patient engagement strategy and research methods.
  • Advance Indigenous cultural safety knowledge, methods, and appropriate patient engagement within donation and transplantation research.
