New Member Profile: Dr. Michael Khoury, Assistant Professor and pediatric cardiologist at UofA
The CDTRP is delighted to welcome many new members within our network this year. We will be sharing information on their research expertise and interests through our New Member Profile series. Please join us this week in welcoming Dr. Micheal Khoury from University of Alberta to Theme 5 (Restore Long-Term Health) of the CDTRP!
What are your fields of expertise and interests in research?
I am a pediatric cardiologist with subspecialty fellowship training in advanced heart failure and transplantation as well as preventive cardiology. I am particularly interested in developing and promoting exercise and physical activity interventions in the pediatric heart transplant population as well as the study of dyslipidemia and hypertension in this population.
What new areas of interest would you like to develop or with which different disciplines or specialist(s) would you like to collaborate within the CDTRP?
I look forward to all the fantastic collaborations and developing important networks. I’m particularly interested in working with researchers interested in cardiac rehabilitation.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
I am a huge tennis fan! My post-pandemic dream is to attend Wimbledon and the US Open.
