Help us improve the care provided to living kidney donors!

We are recruiting family physicians, nurse practitioners, living kidney donors and transplant healthcare professionals to participate in a research study on living kidney donation. This study is led by Dr. Shaifali Sandal at the McGill University Health Centre. We would like to invite you to participate in either interviews or a 90-minute-long online focus group and as a token of our appreciation, we will send you a gift card of $50 following your participation.

Annually, over 500 individuals donate an organ, such as a kidney or a part of their liver, to a person with organ failure. The care of these living donors is generally assumed by primary practitioners such as yourself. However, in our prior survey study where over 140 family physicians participated, they reported being poorly supported by transplant programs and highlighted the need for more resources in their practices to help them care for living donors.

We now want to expand on these findings and kindly request your opinion on how this can be accomplished in a way that does not increase your administrative burden and can be facilitated by the transplant community. We would greatly appreciate your participation as it will help us develop the right tools to support your practices and improve the care of living donors who provide an incredible valuable gift to our society.
