ISODP Journal Watch
The International Society for Organ Donation and Procurement (ISODP) is the organization advancing donation through science, developing professionals and inspiring networks supporting organ donation to improve organ transplantation worldwide (source). The ISODP Journal Watch is an educational resource and benefit to the ISODP members. “Two of the primary goals for the Society are to enhance resources to improve donation practices and to establish an integrated network of donation professionals.”
The ultimate goal of Journal Watch would be to lead to the creation of a journal entirely dedicated to organ donation.

October 2024 issue
In the second edition of 2024’s Journal Watch, the team highlights a range of articles following discussions at the TTS Istanbul meeting. Featured topics include normothermic regional perfusion, mobile retrieval teams in Tuscany, and the use of small donors, which has implications on pediatric transplants. Other studies cover mild hypothermia in extended criteria donors, donor identification strategies in Iran and Switzerland, resilience among organ donor coordinators, and family presence during apnea tests. To improve accessibility, the team will now indicate whether each article is open access or subscription-based. These articles offer valuable insights into transplantation research.
