Each March, Liver Health Month invites us to reflect not only on prevention and treatment, but also on the lived realities of those navigating liver disease and transplantation. While transplant stories often focus on survival and second chances, many families face a more complex and painful journey—one that includes waiting, uncertainty, and loss.

The CDTRP is excited to share that CDTRP Trainee, Dr. Anita Slominska, has released Other Endings: Organ Transplantation and the Burdens of Hope, now available for purchase! Other Endings is a memoir about her sister’s wait for a liver transplant and her death in 2004, described by the publisher as “a journey through grief, loss and coming to terms with the tragic ending of a transplant story.”
