Call for Papers: IJIH Special Issue on Indigenous Organ Donation and Transplantation

The International Journal of Indigenous Health (IJIH) is pleased to announce a call for papers for Volume 22, developed in partnership with the International Indigenous Organ Donation and Transplantation Consortium. This global network of Indigenous and allied researchers, clinicians, health professionals, and people with lived experience has spent more than five years working to improve healthcare journeys for Indigenous ODT patients and families, while raising awareness of organ donation and transplantation (ODT) in Indigenous communities.

With limited research currently available on Indigenous perspectives of ODT, this special issue aims to address this gap and welcomes submissions—including those in Indigenous languages, with English translations provided.

Submission Deadlines:

  • 16 January 2026: Two-paragraph abstract outlining your paper concept

  • 31 March 2026: Full manuscript ready for peer review, submitted through the IJIH website
