The CDTRP is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Arris Hans Vorster.  Hans was a committed CDTRP PFD research partner whose lived experience and dedication to meaningful patient engagement left a lasting impact on donation and transplant research. Through his thoughtful contributions, Hans helped advance research and policy in ways that continue to benefit patients and patients, families, organ donors, living donors, and donor families. He will be remembered as an inspiration to all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Hans served as a reviewer for CDTRP innovation grants, offering insightful and constructive feedback that strengthened the quality and relevance of the research being supported. In addition to this, he was a PFD partner for several research projects. He also moderated CDTRP webinars, fostering thoughtful dialogue and accessible knowledge exchange within the community. Hans shared his lived experience and knowledge with several other donation and transplantation organizations. Many of us were privileged to work alongside him on important initiatives, including the development of the Peer Review Module, and a variety of research projects.

We are grateful to Hans for his many contributions to CDTRP and the broader donation and transplantation research community.
