On Saturday, October 4 @ 10:00am (local time) at 3 national locations, Move for Life Foundation celebrates its 3rd annual 5km Walk-n-Talk event.
This walk is dedicated to raising awareness and funds to reduce the wait time for organ transplants. This event is not just a walk but an opportunity to engage in important conversations about organ donation with your family and community.
This year, we are focusing our fundraising efforts in three critical areas:
- In London, Ontario: Funds raised will go towards further support of the ARP program at London Health Sciences Centre. Move For Life Foundation purchased the equipment to help in this transformative procedure that will allow more organs to be viable for organ transplant. This procedure has been used for 14 organ transplants in 2024/2025. Further support will assist the programming with training, resources, and materials.
- In Vaughan, Ontario: Funds raised will support Camp Fire Circle, a unique summer camp experience for children living with organ transplants and organ failure. Your contributions help send these children to camp, offering them a magical environment where they can connect with others, build confidence, and enjoy a memorable summer—all at no cost to their families.
- In Saskatoon, Saskatchewan: The funds raised go directly to our Saskatchewan Family grant, which assists Saskatchewan families facing the financial strain of relocating to Edmonton, Alberta, for their child’s organ transplant and care. Your support will cover essential costs such as transportation, accommodation, and daily living expenses, easing their burden during a challenging time.
What is Move for Life Foundation?
At Move For Life, our vision and our belief is that everyone who is in need of a transplant shall receive one. With the help of friends, volunteers, and health professionals, we will continue to advocate for organ donation and transplant. We are dedicated to setting the example of living a healthy active lifestyle, providing inspiration to others, and giving back to our communities in a way that will continue to reduce the waitlist for organ transplant and provide more individuals in need of transplant the same second chance at life that we have been given.
