Reminder: Submit your abstract for the CDTRP Annual Scientific Meeting

We encourage all CDTRP members to seize this opportunity and submit an abstract to present their work during the poster session or the main program.

New! Trainee Travel Awards

For the 2024 ASM, the CDTRP is offering $10,800 to support trainee travel and registration costs, committed through the Research Services Platform to successful CDTRP researchers’ grant applications. We are proud to offer support to 24 trainees through this program.

In addition, CDTRP is proud to partner with Simon Fraser University and have additional support from CIHR to support at least 5 $1,000 trainee travel awards for the highest-ranked abstracts.

ASM session: The development and process of co-creating immunology lay summaries for new trainees and patients, families and donors

We are pleased to announce that abstract submissions will also qualify for participation in the ‘Cross-Talking: Disseminating and Co-creating Research in Transplantation’ session. Led by Dr. Jonathan Choy, Professor of Molecular Biology & Biochemistry at Simon Fraser University, and Ms. Ke Fan Bei, 4th-year Immunology PhD student at the University of Toronto, this interactive session focuses on basic immunology and facilitate learning opportunities on how to write lay summaries. This session aims to improve collaboration and knowledge exchange between researchers and patients, families, and donors, and develop skills in writing lay summaries.

Participants will benefit from two educational webinars prior to the in person ASM meeting, an interactive session at the ASM, and an opportunity to publish their lay summary in the CDTRP newsletter. This is a unique in-person opportunity for trainees and patients, families and donors to exchange research and lived knowledge in the creation of a lay summary.
