Hannah Murray’s bio

Hannah is the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Lead for the Blood and Transplant Research Unit in Organ Donation and Transplantation at Cambridge and Newcastle Universities in the UK. She is responsible for ensuring the patient/public voice is at the heart of their research activities. Her main responsibility is to support the Unit’s Patient and Public Research Panel (PPRP). The panel brings together the views of patients, carers and the public so that the researchers may better understand the priorities, concerns and needs of the organ donation and transplantation community. She also supports the researchers to ensure PPIE is integrated into Organ Donation and transplantation research in a meaningful way.
Before becoming PPIE Lead, Hannah worked in rare disease policy and communication and she is currently studying for an MSc in Public Health. She really enjoys her role, feels very lucky and it has provided her with opportunities which she never thought she would have. She has met some wonderful people, patients, carers, and researchers and it is their experiences, their determination and their hard work which is truly inspiring.
