Stefan Mustata’s bio

Stefan Mustata, MD is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and member of the Division of Nephrology at the University of Calgary. Stefan’s research focuses primarily on the effects of exercise in patients with kidney disease. He founded the inaugural Prehabilitation Clinic for kidney transplant patients in late 2018. This clinic has focused on improving frailty and wellness in patients waiting for transplant surgery. Additionally, Stefan was the Principal Investigator on the Move More project, which examined a mobility intervention on kidney inpatients in Calgary, Alberta between 2019-2021. He is also the Medical Director for the Kidney Exercise and Educate Program (KEEP), which offers weekly online exercise classes to any patient dealing with kidney disease and their caregivers. Stefan is the Medical Director for the Transplant Wellness Program.
