Cindy Moriarty’s bio
Cindy Moriarty is the Director General, Health Programs and Strategic Initiatives at Health Canada. She is responsible for a number of program and policy areas including sexual reproductive health, thalidomide, sex and gender based analysis, brain health research, blood research and organ donation and transplantation. She is leading the work of the Organ Donation and Transplantation Collaborative (the Collaborative), a collaboration of provincial governments, clinicians, patients and stakeholders in the sector. The Collaborative is a time limited and transformative initiative aimed to make improvements in the system and ultimately patient outcomes across Canada. Cindy has held various positions at Health Canada and previously worked over twenty years in the not-for-profit sector in the areas of anti-poverty, homelessness and international development.
