ASHI Presentation not to miss on Sept 29: CDTRP Patient Engagement and Partnerships

The American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI) hybrid annual meeting will take place from Monday, September 27 through Friday, October 1.

We are pleased to highlight that CDTRP Executive Director, Mélanie Dieudé, and CDTRP Patient, Family, and Donor Partnership Manager, Manuel Escoto, are invited to present the CDTRP experience with patient engagement and developing patient partnerships.

Their session builds on ASHI’s ‘Breaking Barriers to Patient Engagement in the Presence of Challenges and Disparities in Healthcare’ program.

Date/Time: Wednesday, September 29, 2021 – 11:15 am PT | 12:15 pm MT | 2:15 pm ET | 3:15 pm AT

Description:
Part I of the program will be a recap of what is patient engagement, why it’s needed, and some ways to achieve. It will be a high level overview. The speakers are highly engaged in patient engagement and have developed a patient partnership platform in the Canadian Donation and Transplantation Research Program. Part II of the program will be focussed on patient engagement from the patient point of view. Part III will discuss medical disparities experienced by ethnically and racially diverse patients and identify what attendees need to know to begin to break down systemic problems. It is key to know what these barriers are as we seek to engage with all patient populations.
