The CDTRP Clinical Trials Group (CDTRP-CTG) is a segment of the CDTRP dedicated to clinical trials that include supportive collaborations among early to senior-career investigators, trainees, research coordinators, and PFDs to optimize and increase the number of RCTs in donation and transplantation while upholding national standards for clinical trials research networks.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS

The CDTRP internal Peer-review Group is a segment of the CDTRP CTG designed to assist clinical trialists in enhancing the quality of their RCTs by providing scientific advice on RCT protocols related to donation and transplantation at the national and/or international levels.

The CDTRP CTG internal peer-review group consists of the chair and interested members of the CDTRP CTG. Clinical trialists with experience in RCT and interested in mentoring and peer-reviewing may participate as group members. The CDTRP peer review group reports to the scientific committee board of the CDTRP CTG.

  • The CDTRP CTG Peer Review Group will meet every three months to analyze new RCT proposals or protocols in donation and transplantation.
  • CDTRP clinical trialists who wish to participate in the CDTRP internal peer review must submit their request to CDTRP Research Services.
  • The CDTRP peer review process is an in-kind contribution to the principal investigators (PIs) to help develop high-quality RCTs in donation and transplantation.
  • A letter of support for the grant application from the CDTRP CTG peer review will be provided after adjustments are made to the protocol following the peer review committee’s recommendations.
  • To ensure the continuity of the support, PIs who received CDTRP peer review assistance will be eligible to present their protocols during one of the CDTRP CTG virtual meetings, provide support as peer reviewers for subsequent grant applications from other PIs and support ECR on new RCT applications.
