\u00c0 l\u2019occasion de cette journ\u00e9e, le PRDTC est fier de mettre \u00e0 l\u2019honneur le leadership et l\u2019impact de la Dre Patricia Gongal, directrice g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, et de la Dre Lori West, directrice scientifique et cofondatrice.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leur d\u00e9vouement \u00e0 l\u2019avancement de la recherche sur le don et la transplantation au Canada contribue \u00e0 fa\u00e7onner une communaut\u00e9 de recherche nationale collaborative, inclusive et innovante. Sous leur direction, le PRDTC a renforc\u00e9 les partenariats entre les disciplines et soutenu des recherches de pointe.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Aujourd’hui, nous c\u00e9l\u00e9brons leur leadership et leur engagement ind\u00e9fectible \u00e0 b\u00e2tir un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me de recherche sur le don et la transplantation plus solide et mieux connect\u00e9. Cela refl\u00e8te l’esprit m\u00eame de cette journ\u00e9e : honorer les femmes qui dirigent avec d\u00e9termination, r\u00e9silience et int\u00e9grit\u00e9.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Nous c\u00e9l\u00e9brons les contributions des Dres Gongal et West et de toutes les femmes de notre r\u00e9seau dont le leadership, la recherche, le plaidoyer et l\u2019exp\u00e9rience v\u00e9cue continuent de susciter des changements significatifs dans le domaine du don et de la transplantation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

Dre Patricia Gongal<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>

<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Dr. Patricia Gongal is Executive Director of the CDTRP based at the University of Alberta. Her scientific interests focus on the implementation and evaluation of collaborative research networks and infrastructure to advance health equity in the field of donation and transplantation, and applied research in communication and knowledge mobilization. She aims to disrupt the reproduction of structural inequities at every step of the research lifecycle, including team building, research prioritization, research execution, and knowledge mobilization.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Dre Lori West<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>

<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Dr. Lori West is a Professor of Pediatrics, Surgery, Medical Microbiology\/Immunology and Laboratory Medicine\/Pathology at the University of Alberta. A clinician-scientist, Dr. West has longstanding interest and expertise in pediatric heart transplantation and transplant immunology, with a focus on neonatal immune tolerance. Her pioneering work on crossing ABO barriers led to global advancement in infant heart transplantation, and she continues in-depth exploration of ABO-glycoimmunology, especially related to organ transplantation. Dr. West is the past-Director of the Alberta Transplant Institute (2013-2024) and past-President of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation. She received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Society of Transplantation and the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation.
