Profil de nouveau membre: Jessica Ntofon \u2013 Nouvelle patiente partenaire<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Nous sommes heureux d\u2019accueillir au sein du Programme de recherche en don et transplantation du Canada (PRDTC) de nouveaux membres de divers domaines qui se joindront \u00e0 notre communaut\u00e9 de chercheurs, de cliniciens, de patients, de familles, de donneurs et de stagiaires qui se consacrent \u00e0 l\u2019am\u00e9lioration de la vie des donneurs et des receveurs d\u2019organes. En tant que nouveau membre, les gens sont un \u00e9l\u00e9ment essentiel de notre mission qui consiste \u00e0 faire progresser la science du don et de la transplantation et \u00e0 \u00e9laborer des approches novatrices fond\u00e9es sur des donn\u00e9es probantes afin d\u2019am\u00e9liorer les r\u00e9sultats pour les patients au Canada et dans le monde entier.<\/p>\n

Nous sommes ravis que\u00a0Jessica Ntofon<\/strong>\u00a0se joigne \u00e0 la\u00a0Plateforme de partenariat patients, familles et donneurs du PRDTC<\/a>\u00a0en tant que nouvelle patiente partenaire. Kim est une receveuse de rein et de\u00a0pancr\u00e9as,\u00a0<\/span>et se joint au\u00a0Th\u00e8me 5<\/a>\u00a0du PRDTC \u2013 R\u00e9tablir la sant\u00e9 \u00e0 long terme.<\/p>\n

Qu\u2019est-ce qui vous a amen\u00e9 \u00e0 la Plateforme de partenariat patients, familles et donneurs du PRDTC?<\/strong><\/h6>\n
\n

I\u2019ve seen the important work being done in donation and transplantation research, and I’ve been inspired to be part of it. Having gone through two liver transplants and one kidney transplant, I want to contribute my lived experience and journey to help shape projects that reflect what patients and families truly need. Joining CDTRP gives me the chance to share my perspective, collaborate with others, and make a difference in research that impacts real lives.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Quels sont vos domaines d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat et votre exp\u00e9rience en mati\u00e8re de partenariat patients dans la recherche?<\/strong><\/h6>\n
\n

My research interests are in kidney health, equity in care, and culturally safe practices. I\u2019ve been involved with the Krescent Patient Community Advisory Network and the Black Voices for Kidney Health webinar series, where I\u2019ve shared my story and worked with researchers to make projects more inclusive and patient-centred. My lived experience as someone who has undergone two liver transplants and one kidney transplant gives me a unique perspective that I believe will be valuable in shaping research. I also care deeply about mental health and the importance of using my voice to advocate for patients and families, making sure their experiences are recognized and respected. I\u2019ve also contributed to surveys, helping researchers gather patient perspectives and ensure that studies reflect what truly matters to the community.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Quels sont les nouveaux domaines d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat que vous souhaitez explorer et quelles sont les comp\u00e9tences que vous souhaitez d\u00e9velopper?<\/strong><\/h6>\n

I want to find new ways to advocate for patients and families, particularly by helping research teams recognize the importance of equity and lived experience. I value collaboration and aim to improve my ability to work with diverse groups like patients, families, donors, and researchers to ensure everyone\u2019s voice is heard. I am also eager to develop skills in teaching and sharing knowledge, so I can support others in learning from my experience and inspire more people to participate in patient-oriented research.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I love travelling and boxing, and I\u2019m always chasing the next thrilling adventure. Travelling lets me discover new adventures and experiences, while boxing keeps me disciplined and grounded.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>

\u00c0 propos de la Plateforme de partenariat patients, familles et donneurs du PRDTC<\/strong><\/h5>\n

La Plateforme de partenariat patients, familles et donneurs (PFD) est un des volets importants du PRDTC. Elle donne une voix aux patients, aux proches aidants ainsi qu\u2019aux donneurs vivants tout en offrant un environnement favorisant la collaboration entre les familles, les chercheurs, les responsables de projets et les liens avec les Th\u00e8mes du PRDTC. La participation des PFD \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle nationale est une priorit\u00e9 dans la majorit\u00e9 des projets de recherche du PRDTC, et contribue au transfert des connaissances en plus d\u2019avoir un impact positif sur la transplantation et le don au Canada.<\/p>\n
