Lancement de l’\u00e9tude CINERGY : lier le don et la transplantation<\/h4>\n

L’\u00e9tude CINERGY<\/a> a maintenant re\u00e7u l’approbation de Sant\u00e9 Canada, les approbations des C\u00c9R provinciaux et le financement des IRSC pour lancer le premier essai randomis\u00e9 contr\u00f4l\u00e9 (ERC) canadien qui relie la recherche sur le don et la transplantation.<\/p>\n

Le chercheur principal Fr\u00e9d\u00e9rick D’Aragon, les co-chercheurs Maureen Meade et Markus Selzner, ainsi que toute l’\u00e9quipe sont enthousiastes \u00e0 l’id\u00e9e de lancer cet essai pilote et esp\u00e8rent une collaboration fructueuse entre les communaut\u00e9s de transplantation et de don.<\/p>\n

L’ERC pilote CINERGY \u00e9tablit une voie pour la mise en \u0153uvre de nouvelles innovations en mati\u00e8re de protection des organes qui permettent des interventions en amont aupr\u00e8s des donneurs ; renfor\u00e7ant ainsi un r\u00e9seau de collaboration entre les communaut\u00e9s de donneurs et de receveurs.<\/p>\n

CINERGY ouvre la porte \u00e0 \u00ab l’ing\u00e9nierie d’une meilleure greffe \u00bb \u00e0 un tout nouveau niveau, en commen\u00e7ant en amont par des interventions sur les organes avant leur r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration.<\/p>\n

La recherche sur les interventions aupr\u00e8s des donneurs est une voie prometteuse pour r\u00e9duire les l\u00e9sions des greffons et augmenter le nombre de donneurs pour nos patients en liste d’attente.<\/p>\n

In Canada, most life-saving transplants involve vital organs from deceased organ donors. When organs are removed from organ donors, they are transported with great care to transplant centres in other hospitals, or cities, and even distant provinces. Any interval in time in which a donated organ is preserved without blood circulation may result in organ injury. The time without blood flow can cause organ injury and the re-establishment of blood flow during transplantation may lead to severe injury, called ischemia reperfusion injury, or IR injury. IR injury threatens the viability of organ transplants in the short term, and the long term. Several treatments for transplant recipients aim to reduce the risk of IR injury.\u00a0 Similarly, there are treatments for the organ, itself, before transplant, that aim to mitigate IR injury. There are no treatments, however, provided to organ donors with a view to purpose of reducing IR jury and improving the health of organ transplant recipients. The CINERGY Pilot Trial, in Ontario and Quebec, will test the feasibility of a future national study that tests a drug for administered to organ donors to reduce IR injury in organ recipients. The drug is tacrolimus, a common transplant medication that has never been provided to organ donors.
