L&rsquo;objectif du programme de recherche de la Dre Bhat est de permettre une approche de m\u00e9decine de pr\u00e9cision des complications \u00e0 long terme apr\u00e8s une transplantation h\u00e9patique gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une meilleure compr\u00e9hension de leur base m\u00e9canistique. Elle \u00e9tudie plus particuli\u00e8rement la st\u00e9atoh\u00e9patite non alcoolique, le diab\u00e8te post-transplantation et le carcinome h\u00e9patocellulaire dans le contexte de la transplantation du foie. Son programme de recherche utilise un paradigme \u00ab du laboratoire au chevet du patient \u00bb qui relie les r\u00e9sultats cliniques \u00e0 la recherche fondamentale en utilisant l&rsquo;analyse bioinformatique d&rsquo;ensembles de donn\u00e9es \u00ab omiques \u00bb (par exemple, transcriptomique, miRNA, m\u00e9thylation, microbiome intestinal) et des outils d&rsquo;apprentissage automatique. Elle a \u00e9galement acquis une exp\u00e9rience dans l&rsquo;application d&rsquo;outils d&rsquo;apprentissage automatique \u00e0 de grands ensembles de donn\u00e9es, valid\u00e9e dans des donn\u00e9es institutionnelles. Son programme de recherche a \u00e9t\u00e9 soutenu par des financements du PRDTC, de la NSI, de l&rsquo;American Society of Transplantation et du CRSNG. Elle a re\u00e7u le prix Polanyi en 2020.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 &#091;&#093;\">\u00ab I believe I could bring unique perspectives to developing Theme 4, as a clinician-scientist with expertise in computational biology and machine learning, as applied to patient clinical and molecular data to inform personalized care of transplant recipients. Il est immunologiste de formation et son \u00e9quipe s&rsquo;int\u00e9resse de pr\u00e8s \u00e0 la compr\u00e9hension des m\u00e9canismes immunologiques du rejet des greffes et des l\u00e9sions vasculaires associ\u00e9es, en utilisant la culture cellulaire, les mod\u00e8les animaux et les \u00e9tudes cliniques.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 &#091;&#093;\">\u00ab I am excited to serve as co-lead of Theme 4 with Dr. Bhat.\u00a0 Since the inception of the CDTRP, Megan, Atul and Elaine have done an amazing job in developing and leading this Theme.\u00a0 Under their leadership, there have been many accomplishments from CDTRP researchers that contribute to understanding and potential treatment of transplant failure.\u00a0 They have also led the acquisition of substantial new resources to support transplant researchers across Canada.\u00a0 I am honored to serve in their footsteps.\u00a0 In the coming years, I hope to support Theme 4 researchers in their continued success in the current research landscape, with the ultimate goal of improving the lives of transplant recipients.\u00a0 This includes enhancing the development of collaborative teams, research opportunities with other Themes, and the visibility of Canadian transplant research.\u00a0 Also, increasing the engagement of trainees will be essential to ensure the future success of transplantation and donation research in Canada.\u00a0 Please feel free to reach out to me at any time if you have suggestions and\/or questions that I can help with. \u00bb<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"align-self: center;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;margin-top:30px;margin-bottom:30px;width:100%;\"><div class=\"fusion-separator-border sep-single sep-solid\" style=\"--awb-height:20px;--awb-amount:20px;border-color:#e0dede;border-top-width:1px;\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\"><h5>Messages de d\u00e9part<\/h5>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 &#091;&#093;\">Megan et Atul ont fait partie de l&rsquo;ex\u00e9cutif du r\u00e9seau depuis la cr\u00e9ation du PNRTC en 2013. Ils resteront des membres actifs du PRDTC, mais souhaitaient s&rsquo;adresser \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 au moment\u00a0 de passer le flambeau de la co-direction du Th\u00e8me 4.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 &#091;&#093;\">\u00ab It has been an incredible opportunity to part of the CDTRP since its inception almost 10 years ago. Theme 4 has achieved many milestones &#8211; from completing the CARE trial to rolling out a national immune monitoring platform to being close to ready for a first-in-human trial of thymic Tregs. I am delighted that Jonathan and Mamatha have agreed to take on the lead &#8211; with their new energy and ideas Theme 4 is well positioned to continue catalyzing transplant immunology research across the country and beyond.
