Daniel holds several competitive research awards including the NSERC PGS-D and NSERC Nanomat. Daniel has published on various polymeric biomaterials for therapeutic intervention with research teams at UBC and McMaster, the latter being where he completed his undergraduate degree in the lab of Professor Todd Hoare.
