National Immunization Awareness Week is a reminder of the <\/span>critical role vaccines play in protecting our health and the health of those most vulnerable<\/span>\u2014including transplant recipients and <\/span>others <\/span>with suppressed immune systems.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h6>\n<\/div>
<\/div>
We were reminded of the importance of vaccines<\/span> to prevent disease during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, and they continue to be on the minds of many <\/span>transplant<\/span> recipients <\/span>as we see outbreaks of avian flu, measles, and other infectious diseases.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h6>\n<\/div>

To better understand the experiences and ongoing perspectives of transplant recipients, families, and caregivers with COVID-19, the Canadian Donation and Transplantation Research Program (CDTRP) launched a national questionnaire study: <\/span><\/span>TREAT-COVID<\/span><\/span>\u2014<\/span><\/span>Addressing Critical Issues and <\/span><\/span>T<\/span><\/span>he<\/span><\/span>r<\/span><\/span>apeutics <\/span><\/span>E<\/span><\/span>merging in Tr<\/span><\/span>a<\/span><\/span>nsplan<\/span><\/span>t<\/span><\/span>ation in COVID-19 for Transplant Recipients<\/span><\/span>. <\/span><\/span>TREAT-COVID<\/span> aims to develop effective strategies for addressing the impacts of COVID-19<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span> in transplant recipients, including clinical treatments, mental health, and economic impacts for patients, families, and caregivers.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h6>\n<\/div>
