National Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Week \u2013 Advancing Donation Policy<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n
National Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Week<\/span><\/b> highlights the importance of building strong, ethical, and effective systems that support donation and transplantation. One step in this direction is the <\/span>International Donation and Transplantation Legislative and Policy Forum<\/span><\/b>\u2014an initiative co-hosted by the <\/span>Canadian Donation and Transplantation Research Program (CDTRP) <\/span><\/b>and<\/span> Transplant Qu\u00e9bec<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h6>\n
Through a collaborative process, the Forum generated <\/span>94 evidence-informed recommendations<\/span><\/b> designed to guide legislative and policy reform in jurisdictions at any stage of OTDT system development.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h6>\n<\/div>

Turning Evidence into Action to Advance Donation Policy<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n
CDTRP has already utilized the Forum\u2019s recommendations to support knowledge translation and policy development, including the development of <\/span>fact sheets on Mandatory Referral, Public Reporting, and Consent Models<\/span><\/b>, which were shared during Alberta\u2019s legislative debate on Bill 205. This work exemplifies how international collaboration can fuel local impact\u2014turning theory into real-world change.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h6>\n<\/div>

Help Steer the Development of International Donation and Transplantation Legislative and Policy Forum Fact Sheets<\/b><\/h5>\n
With support from a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Planning and Dissemination Grant, CDTRP is now seeking community and professional input to identify which recommendations are most relevant to the Canadian OTDT community in order to develop educational materials.
