As a new member, people are an essential part of our mission to advance the science of donation and transplantation and develop innovative, evidence-based approaches to improve outcomes for patients in Canada and around the world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-611883c3-0 bsumVz\" data-testid=\"youchat-text\">We are thrilled to have <strong>Kim O&#8217;Reilly\u00a0<\/strong>joining <a href=\"https:\/\/cdtrp.ca\/en\/platforms\/patient-family-and-donor-partnership-platform\/\">CDTRP Patient, Family, and Donor Partnership Platform<\/a>, as a new patient partner. Kim is a kidney and pancreas transplant recipient and is joining CDTRP <a href=\"https:\/\/cdtrp.ca\/en\/research\/restore-long-term-health\/\">Theme 5<\/a> &#8211; Restore Long-term Health.<\/p>\n<p>We have asked Kim a few questions that you can read below.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-sep-clear\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;margin-top:30px;margin-bottom:30px;width:100%;\"><div class=\"fusion-separator-border sep-double sep-solid\" style=\"--awb-height:20px;--awb-amount:20px;border-color:#e0dede;border-top-width:1px;border-bottom-width:1px;\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-sep-clear\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><h6><strong>What brought you to CDTRP\u2019s Patient, Family, and Donor Research Platform?<\/strong><\/h6>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 &#091;&#093;\">What brought me to join CDTRP is the impact of organ transplantation on my family as well as the desire to help improve organ transplantation in general and the life of recipients.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h6><strong>What are your areas of research interest and experience in patient research?<\/strong><\/h6>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 &#091;&#093;\">I would like to be involved in research regarding the importance of various aspects of lifestyle post-transplant.\u00a0 Both from a patient perspective and a health care system perspective.\u00a0 I don\u2019t have experience working directly with transplant recipients, but I am a Level 2 Social Return on Investment Practitioner with education and experience in outcome evaluation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h6><strong>What new areas of interest do you want to explore, and which skills would you like to build on?<\/strong><\/h6>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 &#091;&#093;\">I am interested in any areas that my knowledge and experience might benefit.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h6><strong>Tell us a fun fact about yourself!<\/strong><\/h6>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 &#091;&#093;\">I am passionate about and practice a healthy lifestyle which allows me to remain active to do the things in life I love to do!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-sep-clear\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;margin-top:30px;margin-bottom:30px;width:100%;\"><div class=\"fusion-separator-border sep-double sep-solid\" style=\"--awb-height:20px;--awb-amount:20px;border-color:#e0dede;border-top-width:1px;border-bottom-width:1px;\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-sep-clear\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\"><h5><strong>About the CDTRP Patient, Family, and Donor Partnership Platform<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>A strong, central feature of the CDTRP, the Patient, Family and Donor (PFD) Partnership Platform gives patients, caregivers and living donors a voice while offering an environment to collaborate between families, investigators, project leads and CDTRP Themes.
