We are proud to showcase all of the exciting projects that have been funded in this year\u2019s competition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to <strong>Dr. Diana Mager<\/strong> and her team for being awarded the <strong>CDTRP KFOC Research Innovation Grant<\/strong>. For the child who has undergone life-saving organ transplantation this is concerning as lack of a healthy food supply has the potential to contribute to the onset of obesity, reduced quality of life and mental health; all of which can lead to more health problems. In adults with chronic disease, even marginal food insecurity can directly lead to more health problems.\u00a0 Many factors lead to an increased risk for food insecurity in households in Canada including number of children in the household, poverty, lack of affordable housing, geographical isolation, single parent households, biological sex and gender.
