<\/span><\/div>CDTRP 2023 Patient, Family and Donor Research Forum – Meet our Co-Chair: Dr. Ruth Sapir-Pichhadze<\/strong><\/h4>\nThe Canadian Donation and Transplantation Research Program is excited to announce the 4th edition of the Patient, Family and Donor Research Forum <\/strong>in cooperation with the\u00a0Organ Donation and Transplantation Collaborative<\/a>\u00a0(ODTC) and the\u00a0Canadian Society of Transplantation<\/a> (CST).<\/p>\nThis forum will be aimed at enhancing patient engagement during project development and research execution, as well as promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in patient engagement and research training. We will also be exploring the emerging best practices for integrating Patient, Family and Donor (PFD) partners in knowledge mobilization, with the goal of building skills and resources that benefit both patients and researchers.<\/p>\n
The forum will be the perfect opportunity to network and collaborate with colleagues and experts in the field, and we encourage everyone to participate.<\/p>\n
We are pleased to announce that this year’s Co-Chairs are Leonard Hodder<\/strong>, a two-time non-directed living donor and Dr. Ruth Sapir-Pichhadze<\/strong>, nephrologist and investigator at McGill University Health Centre and an Assistant Professor, Division of Nephrology and Multi-Organ Transplant Program, at McGill University.<\/p>\nWe have asked a few questions to Ruth<\/strong> about her implication in the Forum, that you can read below. Why is the CDTRP Patient, Family and Donor Research Forum important for you?<\/strong><\/h6>\n\nAs a Clinician Scientist, I strive to conduct research that promotes the wellbeing of transplant candidates and recipients. The PFD Research Forum is an opportunity to advance collaborations between researchers and patient, family, donor partners, present research in donation and transplantation to key stakeholders.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
What would you say to the public to convince them to attend the Forum?<\/strong><\/h6>\n\nThis year’s PFD Research Forum brings together investigators, trainees and, of course, patient, family, and donor partners who will discuss how to engage patients in the research process.\u00a0Cognizant of\u00a0principles of\u00a0equity, diversity and inclusion, we will discuss meaningful PFD engagement from study conception and design, through research execution, to knowledge mobilization and implementation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
