New Member Profile: Dr. Hana Mitchell, infectious diseases pediatrician at UBC<\/h4>\n

The CDTRP is delighted to\u00a0welcome many new members within our network this year. We will be sharing information on their research expertise and interests through our\u00a0New Member Profile series<\/strong>. Please join us this week in welcoming Dr. Hana Mitchell<\/strong> from University of\u00a0 British Columbia to Theme 4 (Tailor an Optimal Immune System for Each Patient) of the CDTRP!\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

What are your fields of expertise and interests in research?<\/h5>\n
\n

I am an infectious diseases pediatrician with interest in vaccine effectiveness and safety in children with solid organ transplant and knowledge translation initiatives that directly\u00a0benefit children\u00a0and families.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

What new areas of interest would you like to develop or with which different disciplines or specialist(s) would you like to collaborate within the CDTRP?<\/h5>\n
\n

I would like to learn more about transplant immunology and evaluating individual’s\u00a0immune response to predict and mitigate the\u00a0risk of viral\u00a0infections.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!<\/h5>\n
\n

I lived in East Timor for several years before becoming a physician and became\u00a0fluent in Tetum.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>

Dr. Mitchell is a co-investigator for UBC pediatrics on the PREVenT-COVID national study<\/a>.<\/p>\n
