National Specimen Inventory (NanSI) update to CDTRP community<\/h4>\n

A key component of medical research is the acquisition of both human biospecimens and corresponding medical information. The careful collection, storage and retrieval of these biospecimens and medical information for research projects are critical for understanding healthy development and disease and the subsequent development of effective treatments and management.<\/p>\n

The mission of the The Canadian Donation and Research Program National Specimen Inventory (NanSI) for research purposes and accessible to CDTRP members, is to provide a catalog of biospecimen inventory available for scientific collaborations within the network. This allows researchers, physicians and BioBankers to have rapid access to biospecimens and medical information for research projects that adheres to the highest standards of research ethics and patient privacy. This tool will help to advance research in donation and transplantation by providing access to biospecimens for quantitative and qualitative analyses.<\/p>\n

We are now ready to begin uploading data to the CDTRP researcher access portal with data\u00a0from biobanks that have received\u00a0ethics approval.\u00a0With the different projects being carried out by the reduced CDTRP team, we have to slow down the activities of NanSI, but know that we continue the work to offer this platform to the whole CDTRP research community.<\/p>\n

In order to have a better overview of our community and the biospecimens available, we ask you to answer this\u00a0short survey (3 minutes) here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You may be contacted in the next months to begin your REB process to include NanSI within your biobank.<\/p>\n
