Call for Program Ideas

As planning gets underway, we are inviting you to help shape the scientific program by sharing your ideas for sessions, speakers, panels, and themes. Your input is essential to ensuring that the 2026 Scientific Meeting reflects the diverse perspectives, priorities, and expertise of the donation and transplant research and care community. We look forward to building an engaging, inclusive, and impactful 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting together.

The CDTRP Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) is scheduled to take place on December 1-2, 2026 at the Edmonton Convention Center, Edmonton, AB. The meeting will be held in a hybrid format, which means that participants will have the option to attend in person or virtually. Note that on December 3, From Bench to Business: Commercial Pathways in Immunology Diagnostics, a full-day hybrid workshop co-chaired by Drs. Anne Halpin & Francis Migneault, and supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), will take place. Details about registration will be shared soon.

In-person

We are excited to hold our 2026 Scientific Meeting in Edmonton, AB! The SM Program Planning Committee has built a robust program that maximizes interaction with past, present, and future collaborators.

Virtual

For those attendees unable to join us in Edmonton, we are running most sessions in an interactive hybrid format (Zoom) allowing virtual attendees the opportunity to ask questions and fully participate in sessions in real-time.

The CDTRP ASM requires masking and regular rapid tests for attendees, and we will be monitoring air quality in the venue. You can consult the full Health & Code of Conduct Policies here. The most recent research shows that in solid organ transplant recipients, around 1 in 16 who are infected with COVID-19 results in a severe case requiring supplemental oxygen (Solera et al, 2024). Among the general population, 1 in 9 Canadians have experienced long term COVID symptoms, and most of these individuals continue to experience them (Statistics Canada, 2023). It is aligned with CDTRP values to protect the health and well-being of our attendees and provide an accessible meeting for those at high risk. All participants are responsible for booking their own travel (plane, train, car) and accommodation using the link provided, unless they have been directly contacted. This means that it is your own responsibility to use the provided link to book your accommodation.

The meeting officially begins at 8:30 am MT on Tuesday, December 1st and will run for two days, with a social event on Wednesday, December 2nd. The meeting will end at 5:00 pm MT on Wednesday, December 2nd. From Bench to Business: Commercial Pathways in Immunology Diagnostics

From Bench to Business: Commercial Pathways in Immunology Diagnostics is a full-day hybrid workshop co-chaired by Drs. Anne Halpin & Francis Migneault. The workshop will train researchers and trainees to translate discoveries in infection and immunity from the lab to real-world applications. Participants will learn how to identify commercial opportunities, protect their ideas, and work with industry and other partners to develop products that improve health. The program will feature expert talks, panel discussions, hands-on sessions, and networking with leaders from business, academia, and healthcare.
